Ricardo Castro- Piano and Direction from the keyboard (2019-2020)

Teacher: Ricardo Castro - 7 sessions



Programme: The program is 2 years long and will work on how to read and prepare an orchestral score, on the approach of modern conducting techniques and rehearsing strategies for chamber and symphony orchestras, and on how to choose specific conducting and soloist strategies for the piano repertoire with orchestra.

Andrea Lucchesini - Piano (2019-2020)

Teacher: Andrea Lucchesini - 14 sessions with lessons each 15 days
Visiting Professor: Klaus Kaufmann - 1 session. Dates to be defined

Programme: Interpretation of piano repertoire. Participation in chamber music projects is foreseen in collaboration with students participating in other Post-Graduate courses. At the professor’s discretion, the best students may be chosen to hold recitals during the year.

Admission requirements
: candidates must present 20 minutes of music of their choice, which clearly demonstrates the candidate’s technical and musical abilities. The course will take place only if the minimum number of students required is reached.
At the professor’s discretion, the best student may be chosen to hold recitals during the year. Age limit: 30

Marco Fiorini - Violin (2019-2020)

Programme
: Deepening of the technical and instrumental skills. Solo and orchestral repertoire. Training for exams, auditions and competitions. The work program will be defined according to the specific needs of each student. At the professor’s discretion, the best students may be chosen to hold recitals during the year.

Lorenza Borrani - Violin and Chamber Music (2019-2020)

Teacher: Lorenza Borrani- 8 session

Programme: Study of basic technique and of solo, chamber and orchestra repertoire for violin, according to the individual needs and abilities of each student. Study of interpretative flexibility based also, but not solely, upon an informed historic approach. The goal is reaching, realizing and communicate a common reading and interpretation of a score.
At the professor’s discretion, the best student may be chosen to hold recitals during the year.

Programme: Classical repertoire: sonatas for violin and piano (Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Schumann, ecc.), concerts for violin and orchestra of the baroque , classical, romantic and contemporary period. Lise Berthaud – Viola and Chamber Music (2018-2019)

Admission requirements: Candidates should present the following program:
Viola: 1 movement of J. Bach (cello suite or violin sonata or partita ) and 1st movement of Hindemith viola sonata op 25 n1.
Chamber Music: a free choice program of maximum 20 minutes from the repertoire for the formation

Natalia Gutman - Cello (2018-2019)

Teacher: Natalia Gutman in collaboration with Elizabeth Wilson

Programme: Sonatas for cello and piano and pieces for solo cello from Bach onwards.

Admission requirements: Candidates will present a program which will forsee:
- a romantic piece (movement of a concerto or sonata or anything else)
- a piece for solo cello from the 20th century or later
- a movement of a Boccherini sonata

Programme: Instrumental technique and orchestral excerpts from lyric/symphonic repertoire.
Objective of the course: Improvement of the instrument approach and preparation for audition and orchestral competitions.

La Prof.ssa Gintoli will present the baroque harp repertorire and will explain first technical elements to face this type of repertoire.

Programme: The program of the course includes the study of a large part of the lyric and symphonic repertoire for the harp in orchestra, solo and for chamber music. The course provides the opportunity to make arrangements for harp and preparation for competitions and auditions.

Fabio Vacchi - Composition (2019-2020)

Teacher: Fabio Vacchi - 6 session

Programme: group lessons with analysis of contemporary compositions, orchestration issues, presentation of works by the students, group discussions, private sessions with the professor, group lessons with renowned guest musicians and composition of a work (supervised by the professor) to be performed in the final concert of the course.
