DEMIA, Department of Musical Education for Children and Adolescents, is a two-year educational course whose goal is to allow novices, children and adolescents to undertake the practice of music through shared lessons in small groups (3/4 students maximum) of students from the same age group.

The shared lesson has proven and efficaceous educational value, with immediate results regarding emotional involvement, listening and motivation; it favors the bonds between the students and their families, that they have greater opportunities for support and development.

The educational goals are reached through playing, imitation, repetition and positive comparisons, with a minimal charge of individual responsibility that leads to a more gratifying result.

DEMIA concentrates the frequency of weekly lessons and lessens the families’ financial investment in the initial phase of approaching music.

At the end of the two-year DEMIA program, students who intend to proceed with the natural course of study in music will receive indications from the professors to begin with the pre-academic courses, which provide individual lessons and complementary subjects.

Activation of the instrumental course of studies proposed by DEMIA depends on the number of applicants that ultimately enroll -with relation to each instrument- by the prescribed deadline.

To facilitate a more natural approach to the instruments, it is suggested to attend courses Music Classes from 0 to 5 years with the Gordon Method and in the Rhythmic Choral Classes for children from 3 to 9 years.
