Programme: Sonatas for cello and piano and pieces for solo cello from Bach onwards.
At the professor’s discretion, the best students may be chosen to hold recitals during the year.
Admission requirements: Candidates must send their C.V. indicating the teachers they have studied with and do an audition. The programme of the audition must include one classical work and one twentieth century piece, preferably a sonata and the first movement of a concerto.
The course will take place only if the minimum number of students required is reached. Age limit: 30 years.
Exam: 2018 December 4th at 11.00 a.m

Elizabeth Wilson was born in London, and aged seventeen went to Moscow to study cello in Mstislav Rostropovich’s class at the Moscow Conservatory. On returning to London she pursued a career as performer and cello teacher, playing concerts throughout Europe. Currently she lives in Italy, where in 1995 she became a founding member and artistic director of Xenia Ensemble, a group specialising in contemporary music. Projects set up in Italy have included a concert series “Meet the composer” in Turin and an annual festival entitled “East Meets West – A Journey in the Music of Today” as well as an International summer course for young String Players at Pracatinat(Fenestrelle). She has written biographies of Dmitri Shostakovich, Mstislav Rostropovich and Jacqueline du Pre’ which have been published in the UK and the USA and have been translated into various languages including Russian, Japanese and Chinese.
