The ÂME, Amateur Music Ensemble, was formed at the School of Music of Fiesole with the intention of bringing together the enthusiastic attendees of the amateur course who, although busy with other business activities, wish to dedicate their free time to music.
Under the guidance of Stefano Zanobini, principal violist of the Orchestra della Toscana, the musicians experience the pleasure of playing together in an orchestra, completing a journey of musical activities that focuses on the chamber music experience.
The preparation of the group aims to the performance of a challenging repertoire, always with the idea of the pleasure of making music together. To this end, the figure of the conductor has been removed: Stefano Zanobini does not take the podium, but plays along with the members of the orchestra with the aim to stimulate the musicians to listen to themselves and the others, thus increasing the awareness of each member.
The repertoire performed by ÂME over the years has ranged from early baroque to contemporary music, encountering Monteverdi, Vivaldi, Bach, Telemann, Haydn, Mozart, Sibelius, Dvorak, Brahms, Mussorgsky, Hindemith, Bartók and Kurtág.
