Duccio Ceccanti graduated with honours from Cherubini Conservatory of Florence with Andrea Tacchi and then perfected his studies with Salvatore Accardo, Felix Andrieswski, Stefan Gheorghiu and Boris Belkin.
He started playing at a young age as a guest of the most important international societies and festivals such as: Carnegie Hall and Columbia University in New York, Praga Festival, Huddersfield Festival, Teatro Coliseo, Auditorium RSI of Lugano, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Biennale di Venezia, Teatro San Carlo, Accademia Filarmonica Romana, Settimana Musicale Senese, Amici della Musica di Palermo, GOG Genova, Ravello Festival, Concerti del Quirinale. He has performed the premiere of compositions, some dedicated to him, by famous composers with whom he has worked closely such as Berio, Penderecki, Francesconi, Bussotti, Vacchi, Sotelo, Maxwell Davies, De Pablo, Pousseur, Vandor, Corghi e Guarnieri. He is the violinist of the Quartetto Klimt and ContempoArtEnsemble, of which he is also the artistic director. He has made recordings for ARTS, BRILLIANT, NAXOS, STRADIVARIUS and for the magazine AMADEUS. He teaches violin at the Conservatory of La Spezia and at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. In 2017 he received the Laurentian Medal for artistic merits from the International Medicean Academy as part of the XXXX ^ edition of the Lorenzo Il Magnifico Award.
