Completed his musical studies at the music schools of Fiesole, Sesto Fiorentino and privately (choral singing, piano), and graduated in Lettere from the University of Firenze with full marks and honors. Journalist, member of the National Music Critics Association, since 2010 he has been the titular music critic of "Corriere Fiorentino",

the tuscan edition of "Il Corriere della Sera", after having held the same position for "Il Giornale della Toscana" / "Il Giornale ". He writes in various specialized magazines, such as "Amadeus", "Il Giornale della Musica”, "Civiltà Musicale". Collaborates regularly with Rete Toscana Classica since its foundation (2002), keeping a column of music critic and curating numerous cycles dedicated to performers and composers. He collaborated with the publisher De Agostini as the author of texts for the "Classica in vinile – 33 giri" series. He signs the program notes and holds a lecture for the major italian concert and theater associations, such as Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Amici della Musica of Firenze, ORT-Orchestra della Toscana, Amici della Musica of Peugia, Camerata Strumentale Città di Prato, Accademia Musicale Chigiana of Siena, Sagra Musicale Umbra, Teatro Regio of Parma, Association Musica con le ali of Milan. Is the author of the booklets for cd published by Emi, Bongiovanni, Tactus, Maggio Live, Warner Classics.
For twenty years he was Director of Communication and Promotion of the Amici della Musica of Firenze, for which he also artistically directed several successful editions of the festival "Settembre Musica". He held the role of co-director and artistic director of the cultural activities of the Zeffirelli Foundation-International Center for the Performing Arts in Firenze. Since 2015 he has been the creator and artistic director of the "Note al Museo" concert series, promoted by the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore in Firenze. From the same institution he was commissioned to design, commission and supervise the creation of a new composition, with music by Silvia Colasanti and text by Maria Grazia Calandrone, to celebrate the 600th anniversary of the construction of the dome of the Florence Cathedral by Filippo Brunelleschi.
Professor of the Music Criticism Laboratory at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy (DAMS) of the University of Firenze, since 2011 he teaches a course in the History of Opera for the Università dell’Età Libera of Firenze. He has held numerous lessons in the history of music as part of the training project "Music in culture: for conscious listening" created by the Camerata Strumentale Città di Prato. He was a member of the artistic board of the Concorso Internazionale per Complessi da Camera – Premio Vittorio Gui of Firenze, and regularly sits on the juries of competitions (as the Premio Crescendo, promoted by A.Gi.Mus).
