My name is Roberto Prezioso. I graduated in “Music and New Technologies” with full marks. I started by playing the piano and eventually turned to the trombone. I initially studied with Maestro Fabiano Fiorenzani, then with Maestro Antonio Sicoli at the Fiesole School of Music.
I received a diploma in trombone from the Mascagni Conservatory in Livorno. After that, I began studying composition with Maestro Andrea Portera. I then pursued a degree in Music and New Technologies at the Cherubini Conservatory in Florence with Maestro Alfonso Belfiore, Maestro Marco Ligabue, and Maestro Roberto Neri.
I play various kinds of music including funky, gospel, samba, and classical music, pop music and ‘70s disco music. I have worked with various artists such as Dario Cecchini, Cheryl Potter, Johanna Knauf, Moni Ovadia, Paolo Hendel, Mario Ancillotti, Aldo Tarabella, Fabrizio Festa, and Andrea Portera. Among the many groups with which I have played are Big Band, Orchestra Desiderio Da Settignano conducted by Johanna Knauf, The Pilgrims gospel choir conducted by Gianni Mini, Funky Beats, Forever Seventy, Boogie Wonder Band, Sambanda, and others. I have played on various CDs, ranging from gospel to funky, the latest being "The Bossa Lounge Experience" by Francesco Gazzara.
In the 2013 and 2015 “2 Agosto Composition Competition" in Bologna, I participated as composer hors concours. In the 2013 event, my piece "Riflessi" was performed by the Orchestra del Comunale di Bologna, conducted by Maestro José Ramón Encinar. In the 2015 event, my piece “Passione” became part of the “Resistenza project”, by Cinzia Venturoli, Valerio Corzani and Fabrizio Festa, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Resistance. It was performed by the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, with Vito Clemente conducting. The narrators were Moni Ovadia, Martina Villani, and Stefano Paradisi, The accordion was played by Giacomo Desiante. I was the composer for Paolo Hendel’s “ComiConcerto” show. During the 2016 Biennale di Venezia, curated by Ivan Fedele, Director of the Music Sector, within the Carnevale Internazionale dei Ragazzi, I participated in “Giro Giro Tondo”, with my piece called “I 5 Caratteri delle Dita di una Mano”, published by Sconfinarte. In 2016, I participated in the orchestration of Offenbach’s work “Vento della Sera” in collaboration with the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
Since 2011, I have taught the Music Informatics and Videowriting course at the Fiesole School of Music. I am working as copyist and arranger for such music publishing houses as Ut Orpheus and Edizioni Musicali Sconfinarte.
From 2014 to 2017, I worked as arranger and copyist for the Orchestra Remuto conducted by Gisella Cosi.
From 2016 to 2018, I was teacher accompanist for the Associazione Piero Farulli ONLUS’s project “Libere Voci dal Mondo”.
Since 2018, I have taught trumpet and trombone in the "ContertAzioni" project with the support of Quartiere 5 for the Martin Luther King Consortium conceived and carried out by the Fiesole School of Music.
Starting in 2017, I have been teaching Elements of Music Informatics for the first level Master’s degree in “Music teacher for youth and child choirs and orchestras” organized by the Fiesole School of Music in collaboration with the Sesto Fiorentino School of Music.
Starting in 2019, I have taught “Composition Techniques for the visual arts” including some “Musical Videowriting”, for the professional qualification course “Tecnico della composizione e dell'arrangiamento musicale e della pianificazione di attività e prodotti musicali, Compositore-Arrangiatore” (Fig. n. 453 del RRFP; IV Livello EQF), for CaMu (AR), organized by the Fiesole School of Music.
I was winner of the second VERETTI composition competition in 2011 and came in second in 2013. I was among the three finalists in 2014 and I won second place in 2016.
Honorable mention at the “MUSICA CON VISTA” competition for “Non-conventional Writing of Music Scores” organized by the Associazione Cluster.
